Sustainable Event Management at TETHiK
At TETHiK, we believe meaningful connection doesn’t have to come at a high environmental cost. As a remote-first company, most of our collaboration and customer engagements already happen virtually—but when we do host or participate in events, we design them to be as sustainable as possible. Our goal is simple: create impactful experiences for our teams and customers while keeping our carbon footprint and waste to a minimum.
Virtual-First by Design
Wherever possible, we default to virtual events—workshops, trainings, meetups, and customer sessions held online. This approach:
- Eliminates most travel-related emissions for attendees and speakers.
- Makes participation more inclusive across locations and time zones.
- Reduces the need for printed materials, signage, and single-use items.
Lower-Impact In-Person Events
When in-person events are truly needed and add clear value, we plan them carefully to reduce their environmental impact. In practice, that means:
- Smart travel: Combining meetings to reduce flights and encouraging public transport or ride-sharing where possible.
- Thoughtful venues: Preferring locations with good public transport links and responsible energy and waste practices.
- Minimal materials: Using digital agendas and resources instead of printed handouts and avoiding unnecessary swag.
- Responsible catering: Prioritising local suppliers, plant-forward menus, and reusable or compostable serveware.
Continuous Improvement
Sustainable event management at TETHiK is an ongoing effort. After major events, we review what worked well, where we can further reduce impact, and how we can make participation even more inclusive and efficient next time.
As we grow, we will keep refining our approach so that every TETHiK event—virtual or in-person—reflects our commitment to sustainability and responsible business.
